Identity Synchronisation (IDSync) Overview
User security is more than just platform access, it is application and data security as well.
Most companies who have an on premise Active Directory (AD) server and are wanting to transition to the cloud, are faced with challenges integrating their cloud offerings. User security is more than just platform access, it is application and data security as well. IDSync solves this problem by providing application level user security, password synchronisation, and access management for both on premise and cloud based systems directly from within the standard AD users and computers management suite.
IDSync is designed to reduce the security risks relating to computer user password, identity and access management and secures your software applications and data residing on diverse operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, IBM AS400, Cloud Applications and UNIX.
IDSync is more than just Comprehensive Identity Access, Identity Management and Application Security Solution – It seamlessly integrated with parallels latest API, bringing all of Parallels Operations Automation (POA) application management capabilities to AD – Allows for instant real time provisioning directly from AD’s users and computers.
What Is Active Directory
Active Directory (AD) is a set of services that allows for the central administration of a Microsoft network.
AD stores information in a central database. User, computers, groups and other objects are stored and managed within AD. In addition, AD also stores configuration information/user authentication and access to resources. One of the main benefits of AD is its scalability and can handle a small network right up to large enterprise networks and because of this AD can mirror business structures.
The benefits of active directory usage are manifold:
- It makes the task of network administration simpler by maintaining a central repository of information
- It provides a single destination to look out for information
- Highly secured access to data through the use of security policies. Thereby it improves the management of data
- Easily scalable. Supports millions of objects in a single domain
- Unified access to resources by supporting a uniform naming convention
Features and Benefits
Below are some of the primary features and benefits relating to IDSync
Reduce IT overheads
Taking pressure off the IT department. Easy maintenance and no investment in new servers.
Full Identity Management
User ID and passwords are centrally managed. One interface ensures that users have access to the right information across multiple systems and applications.
User passwords and meta-data can be synchronized from AD to applications. Password policies can be enforced without the burden of supporting users who have trouble remembering several passwords for several programs. AD management keeps sensitive password data protected even from administrators.
